Introducing…The McDougalls!
by Kelly Edwards | September 7th, 2010
Yay! What a wonderful wonderful Labor Day weekend! One of my best friends Connie got married. Connie’s style has always been very much “shabby chic” and she definitely pulled it off in the classiest of ways. Her reception took place on a golf course with gorgeous china balls that hung from a big white tent, a signature drink served in mason ball jars, and my favorite… name placards that consisted of old windows with your name written in a white marker on the glass. Lovely! So without further ado…I introduce to you…the McDougalls!

Quick and Easy Design Tip
by Kelly Edwards | July 26th, 2010
I love to scour flea markets and thrift stores for hidden treasures and one of my favorite things to buy is silver trays. Since Im a bit of a germ-a-phob(e) Im not big on serving food or drinks on them, but I do love to use them to protect my tabletops and organize my accessories. They are great for putting burning candles on to protect a tabletop from wax, eliminating water stains from a beautiful plant, or a great base for your favorite collection. A glamourous investment for such a small price.
Almost Invisible Mirrored Tree Hotel & A Birds Nest
by Kelly Edwards | July 25th, 2010
Talk about a birds nightmare!! Although architects Tham & Videgard swear the Tree Hotel is covered in a film that birds can see to eliminate them crashing into it. This thing is too cool.
On the other hand, Im assuming that they are loving this! A gigantic birds nest.

Dennis Hopper Double Standard
by Kelly Edwards | July 11th, 2010
Yesterday my boyfriend and I had an all day field trip to San Marino and downtown Los Angeles. We started out at the Huntington Gardens in San Marino, which was so nice. It is 120 acres of beautiful botanical gardens followed up by a library and several galleries that house magnificent art. If you have never been, its a great place to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. My favorite was the Rose Garden and the Chinese Garden. Just gorgeous.
After Huntington Gardens and in pursuit of all things artsy fartsy we had our hearts set on heading over to the MOCA to attend the viewing party of Dennis Hopper’s Double Standard Exhibit. Here a collection of his photography, paintings and sculptures were shown. My favorite…its a toss up between a really hot Jane Fonda with the bow and arrow or the biker couple at a diner. Check out some of the pics below or better yet go see it for yourself. Here is a link to the MOCA.
