Winners of the Clorox Cleaning Contest

Comment(s) August 18, 2009

Congrats to the winners of the Clorox Cleaning Contest!

Our favorite cleaning tip of the month and winner of 12 Clorox Disinfectant Wipe Canisters is Nora.  Here’s her cleaning tip:

I love saving used dryer softener sheets to use with my Swiffer—the dryer sheets do a fantastic job of picking up dust, dirt, and hair! If you don’t have a Swiffer, dryer sheets still work well to clean the floor by hand (you just have to stoop down). Also, get a bottle of 10% peppermint essential oil (not extract!) and sprinkle a few drops in little sachets placed around your house. This keeps mice, moths, and flies away…with the added bonus of giving your living space a fresh, clean smell. The peppermint is especially refreshing during these hot summer months.

Here’s our Runner Ups that will receive 1 Clorox Disinfectant Wipe Canister:

To remove the glue residue left by duct tape and other super-strong tapes, use charcoal lighter or lighter fluid.  We tried 3 commercial cleaners and nothing worked on removing duct tape glue from our tile floor like charcoal or lighter fluid.  -Diane

We use rubbing alcohol to clean the exterior of our appliances.  Its streak free.  -Stacy

To remove indentations in carpeting left over from furniture, I cover the indentation with ice cubes over night.  The next day I towel off the carpeting and fluff it up.  -Donna

Remove rust from fixtures by rubbing it with a mixture of salt and lemon juice until rust disappears.  Follow up with a rinse.  -Mike

I use Wet Wipes to clean my makeup brushes.  After I apply my dusting powder or blush, I swipe my makeup brushes with a Wet
Wipe.  Voila…a clean brush! -Ruth

THANKS GUYS FOR SUCH GREAT TIPS!  WE LOVE THEM!  KEEP EM’ COMING!  DONT FORGET TO SIGN UP FOR OUR BEHR GIVEAWAY BELOW!!
