I’ve teamed up with Ebay to deliver the best deals and steals for Back to School shoppers. Now you can share your upgraded pad. Did you add smart style to guarantee straight A’s? Did you turn your university suite into the ultimate hangout?
The Community will vote and the top 6 with the most votes (2 in each category) will become finalists. I will then place my vote to choose the winner.

  1. SUBMIT a snapshot of your dorm room decor for the chance to win $50,000 towards your college tuition.
  2. SHARE with friends on Facebook and Twitter.
  3. VOTE for your favorites to help determine the winner.

Go to www.ebay.com/gearup to enter to win or go to Ebay’s Facebook page.
Also…here are my tips for expressing your style when designing your dorm!

Tip #1

The bed is a focal point in many dorm rooms, so opt for a duvet. Switching the cover will refresh your look without breaking the bank. You can even consider mounting your bed on risers, which creates much-needed storage space. And colorful containers keep clothing neat and organized.

Tip #2

There are times when you just want to have your friends over and hangout – invest in a flat screen TV to mount on the wall to maximize space – also opt for floor pillows, a great chair alternative. Keep them under your bed and use as extra seating for movie night.

Tip #3

Great lighting is a simple way to make a sterile space warm and welcoming. Anchor your dorm room décor with a plug-in pendant lamp and also consider opening up a room with a leaning mirror. Natural light reflection makes even the smallest space feel more airy.

Tip #4

And last but not least, let’s be honest, studying is the main priority here. Create a study space you won’t want to leave by finding a simple desk, comfy chair and invest in a sleek and stylish computer that will keep your documents, music and photos in order.

Sweet Home Chicago!

Chicago summers are the best!!!  We as Chicagoans spend our entire winter months cooped up under layers and layers of blankets that when summer arrives…IT’S ON!!  Since moving back to LA in November, I vowed to spend a couple weeks back here in Chicago this June to visit with my family, friends and get my fill of the summer in the city.  Of course, the food here is unbelievable so I spent my entire vacation eating myself silly.   Swimsuit season + Italian beef sandwiches = More gym time for me!
