My Favorite Food Blogger
I apologize to everyone who is reading this blog who is expecting design tips and it seems like all I’m writing about this month is food. The truth is that I love food just as much as design. I am a “foodie” for a million reasons. My boyfriend, who works on the Food Network, is one reason. He travels all over the world eating the most amazing food and then either makes it here at home or tries to take me out for it if we can find it. In between me running obsessively to work off the delicious peach cobbler he made or the french brasserie explosion that happens every once in a while, I spend a lot of my time eating, thinking or reading about food. My favorite favorite favorite food blogger on this planet has got to be Matt Armendariz. This guy can make the worst food look appetizing. Matt is a food blogger and photographer extraordinaire. You must check out his sites and drool over all his dishes and photography like I do. Below is a picture taken from his recent post about how to make scary apples for Halloween. I was going to post the recipe, but I feel its more appropriate for you to check out his whole site. Bon Appetit! www.mattbites.com
Bucket List
Wow what a jam packed weekend I had over here! Friday started out by checking out a new restaurant in town with friends, Saturday was a full blown pool party and BBQ and last but not least, Sunday finished it off with the horse races at Hollywood Park here in LA. It has definitely been a weekend of great food, great conversation, and great company. Although I didn’t win a dime at the races, I did do one thing, I learned that I have no clue what Im doing when it comes to betting. I pick the horses who I feel have the “cutest” names, which obviously is not the best way to play. I lost big time! On a positive note however, throughout the course of the weekend my friends and I started a summer bucket list, which consists of everything we want to do this summer before its over. My list seemed like it was the longest…go figure. Im never happy unless Im doing 5 million things at once! Anyway, one of the things that I really want to do is eat farm to table food (all organic) whilst sitting amongst 19 of my closest friends on a farm. My friend Dave Sheinkopf (also from Design on a Dime), recently started a new eating experience called Table 20 and I can’t wait to try it. Table 20 is a perfect idea for anyone who wants to invite 19 of their friends or come alone and make 19. You eat on the farm at a 10 x 10 table, with a pre-fixed menu that includes cheeses, freshly picked veggies, steak, wine and dessert. Shuttles are also available so I definitely plan to take advantage of that too. I look forward to checking this out and marking it off my summer bucket list. Next up on my list… learning tennis, piano and spanish. Oy vey!!

Sweet Home Chicago!
Chicago summers are the best!!! We as Chicagoans spend our entire winter months cooped up under layers and layers of blankets that when summer arrives…IT’S ON!! Since moving back to LA in November, I vowed to spend a couple weeks back here in Chicago this June to visit with my family, friends and get my fill of the summer in the city. Of course, the food here is unbelievable so I spent my entire vacation eating myself silly. Swimsuit season + Italian beef sandwiches = More gym time for me! Read this post
